I thought I'd post some info in case anyone else is having problem with the media scanner running incessantly on their phone. I have the LG Intuition and I thought I was having trouble afterwards an update. I was set to steal my married man'due south upgrade to get a new phone. The media scanner got to a signal where it was running nonstop for days. Information technology was killing my battery and I couldn't admission my camera while it was running. Initially, I figured out how to put a bandaid on the trouble by stopping the media process. At present, I call up I've figured out the real trouble.

On my telephone, the outcome seems to have come up from a corrupt photograph. I deleted out all of the photos on my telephone using the factory installed gallery and the problem vanished. (The photos that had already been backed up in Picasa reappeared on my phone minutes afterward.) I was fairly sure that the problem on my telephone was from an prototype considering I was able to admission the music and other files that was stored on my phone fifty-fifty while the scanner was running.

I had to get the media scanner to end running earlier I could delete out the photos. I establish two ways to do this. First, I went into the settings carte and constitute the running apps. I found the Google procedure for "media" and clicked the "end" option. I had to restart the phone and wait for the scanner to actually cease running. Sometimes, I had to restart the telephone more than than one time. The other matter that worked was plugging the phone into a PC. I had to expect 5 or 10 minutes for the scanner to stop running, only it worked. I don't know why it worked, but that worked several times. It was really a more reliable method than just stopping the media process in the running apps. In all honesty, information technology took me a long time to fix the trouble, but now I love my phone again. It'due south running peachy.

I hope this helps someone else...

I was experiencing meaning lags in my dialer and noticed my media scanner was running overtime. Rebooting didn't help. Then I deleted some recently added apps and some recently snapped photos, at which point everything returned to normal.
